At the invitation of Jesus, “Come, Follow Me,” some 55 years ago I responded to the invitation of Jesus to love Him and share that love with His people.
For the past 11 years I have served as an Advisor at Food For The Poor in Coconut Creek, FL, the largest international Christian Relief and Development Organization in the nation. We feed millions of hungry people in 17 countries as well as provide housing, clean water, medicines and schools. I arrange for donors to visit the mission countries to see the impact their gifts have made.
I was born the eldest of six children into a loving family. Music was our second language, bringing us together for many happy times. I especially enjoyed singing in the choir, cleaning the church with the sisters and leading the Teens’ Club.
Following Catholic high school, I entered the Sisters of Notre Dame. For the next 34 yrs I taught El, Jr. H. and H.S., was a principal, and Assistant Superintendent of Schools and a local coordinator. I arranged Religion Teachers’ workshops throughout the country on weekends, publicizing the SND elementary religion text series, Christ Our Life. In 2000, I moved to Florida to be a caregiver for my mother while working at FFP until she died at 95.
Throughout life’s many challenges and opportunities Jesus has been with me and continues to uplift and strengthen me while blessing the work of my heart, hands and voice.
