The St. Augustine Parish Hunger Center is preparing to serve 9,000 meals this Easter Sunday at four shelters in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, at a center on Cleveland’s east-side, and at a center in Lorain. Located at 2486 W. 14th Street in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood, the Hunger Center is looking for assistance from the community to buy, prepare, serve, and deliver 9,000 Easter Sunday meals to the poor and struggling among us.
In addition to the meals being served at these locations, transportation will be provided for people to and from these locations. Meals will also be delivered to those who are home bound.
The Hunger Center not only provides meals year-round, but addresses other needs of the poor and the homeless such as, food, clothing, emergency funding for rent and utilities, furniture, appliances as well as advocation for those poor seeking medical help.
During this time, the Hunger Center is asking for your prayers and your support of their ongoing ministry to feed the poor of our community. They hope to raise enough awareness and financial support to continue to provide daily meals at the St. Augustine Parish Hunger Center throughout the months of April and May.
To register for a meal, or if you are interested in volunteering to assist on or before Easter Sunday, please contact Sr. Corita Ambro or Doris Everetts at (216) 781-5530. For more information, visit the St. Augustine Parish Hunger Center web page.
