SND Diversity Day

SND Diversity Day

“Thought-provoking, justice seeking, sincere, concerned and challenging,” words used to describe Diversity Day held at the Sisters of Notre Dame Education Center.  The program sought to bring more understanding of the status of immigrants and refugees living in the area and provide insight as to who they are.  Committee member, Sister Mary Kathleen Tobin, stated, “The committee wanted to break down walls and build bridges so as to help us be more welcoming.”  Panel members consisted of young adult professionals who fielded questions on personal experiences and how they have handled challenges.  A slide show was presented on the present refugee crisis and ideas shared on how the Sisters could minister to bridge the gap between themselves and refugees and immigrants.
