I have always been involved in music and singing in places I have been: convents, schools, churches. After 23 years of teaching high school math and doing music on the side, I decided to change ministries and work in music full time.
My ministry as Church Liturgist and Music Department Assistant involves numerous responsibilities. I play guitar for Thursday Masses and Benediction, for our Contemporary Choir each weekend, and for all the parent sacramental sessions for Religious Education. I sing in our Traditional Choir each weekend, our Resurrection Choir for Funerals and cantor as needed. This year our choir auditioned and was invited to sing at Disney’s Epcot Candlelight Service. It was an uplifting experienced after learning fourteen songs by heart in four part harmony.
I am also the Administrative Assistant to the Pastor of St. Teresa Church, which involves such things as decorating the church for all the major feasts, coordinating our religious goods Gift Shop, organizing parish trips abroad, the ministry volunteer dinner, and our Ethnic Sunday celebration, to name a few.
I especially love that my pastor appreciates me and trusts me in all the ministries I am involved in here. I love decorating with volunteers from the parish, especially for Christmas. Working with various volunteers in different ministries has enabled me to see the goodness of God in myself and others and to experience His provident care in the parishioners who so willingly volunteer to help. I am so blessed!
