SND National Associate Gathering

SND National Associate Gathering

Sisters of Notre Dame Chardon will welcome nearly 200 guests as part of the National Associate Gathering October 20 through October 22, 2017.  This Gathering brings together Sisters of Notre Dame from the four Provinces, Chardon, OH, Toledo, OH, Covington, KY and Thousand Oaks, CA along with SND Associates from the same areas, including Florida.  This national gathering offers the opportunity for fellowship, prayer and working sessions on the continued formation of the role of the SND Associate.

Sister Regina Davala, Co-director of the SND Associates in Chardon remarked, “This national gathering is an opportunity to bring everyone together and to continue to offer support and prayer to the Associates who have chosen to live out the charism, spirituality and mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame within their own lives.”

The program theme, “Remember, Celebrate, Believe” will underscore the activities of each day.  Sr. Regina offered, “The opening program will be a remembrance service honoring the deceased associates and those deceased sisters who were involved with the associate relationship.”  The theme of “Celebrate” will be highlighted on Saturday when Sister Mary Kristin Battles, SND, Superior General, will give the keynote address.  Sister Teresita Richards, Toledo Province, will give a presentation on Sunday highlighting the theme “Believe” by looking at the role Sister Maria Aloysia played as the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame throughout the world.

Suzanne Gabric, SND Associate from the Chardon Province, has been at the lead of the Associate group planning the event.  “The first national associate gathering was held in 2006.  Associates enjoyed the fellowship and interaction.  With the four U.S. provinces moving toward a merger, this gathering brings us together to strengthen our belief in our ability to daily witness God’s goodness and provident care.  That is the charism of the Sisters of Notre Dame.”
