My ministry as a member of the Pastoral Care Team of our Health Care Center has evolved naturally over time, from person-centered ministries such as bookstore manager at Regina High School, occupational therapist, and various roles working with many of our own Sisters of Notre Dame. When the position of Administrative Assistant opened up on the Pastoral Care Team it felt like a good fit with my desire to interact with my sisters.
As the challenges of life-transitions related to aging and changing health continue to occur, I feel this is where and how I can accompany my sisters on the journey called life with loving support and encouragement. Because life’s journey involves every person, so too does interaction with family members, especially at the time of a Sister’s transition into eternity. It is a gift to continue to be a “connection” for the families, following up with cards and/or visits when they return to the center.
