Following in the footsteps of St. Julie, my recent ministry has involved religious faith. Currently, I am at St. Helen Parish in Newbury, Ohio, where I am involved with Religious Education and Faith Formation
Formation, especially as a resource person. The accompanying picture shows several catechists reflecting and discussing a chapter from the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults. We gather approximately once each month to share our thoughts on the assigned chapter, to raise questions, to gather in-depth information, to determine how this can be applied to living in today’s culture and how to pass on the Catholic Faith in a meaningful way. At present, this procedure is part of the process for renewing teachers certification for the teaching of religion in the Diocese of Cleveland.
Over the years, I have been involved in various aspects related to the Parish School of Religion and to the preparation for the reception of the Sacraments, mostly at St. Helen School in Newbury, Ohio. Perhaps my greatest satisfaction comes from knowing that many seeds have been planted.
