SND Enjoy Retreat “Conscious Eldering: Aging with Intention and Passion”

On February 8 – 10, twenty Sisters of Notre Dame gathered for a weekend billed as “inspiring, informational, and a catalyst on the journey of growth as you age.”  Conscious Eldering: Aging with Intention and Passion, was held at the SND Education Center in Chardon.  The retreat was facilitated by Ron Pevny, M. A., founder and Director of the Center for Conscious Eldering, and his colleague, Anne Wennhold.

Conscious Eldering is a unique approach to helping people consciously prepare for elderhoods of fulfillment, purpose and service.  The SND retreat was an opportunity for sisters to actively engage and work with a group who all want to thrive in every way as they age.  The three-day program included reflection and sharing while gaining vision about the next stage of life.

Sisters Maureen Spillane and Barbara Klodt, SND, attended a similar program in 2018.  Both were so energized by the experience, they invited Ron and Anne to present for interested sisters from the Chardon Province.  Sr. Maureen offered, “It is an opportunity to experience a shift in how you view aging in general but also, how you view your own years.”
