Sister Marie Helene Minut: (1945-2020)

Sister Marie Helene Minut: (1945-2020)

Our dear Sister Marie Helene went home to God quietly and peacefully on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 19, at 11:00 p.m. Sister graduated from both St. Stephen’s elementary and high school, entered from the parish and ministered at Metro Catholic School for the last fourteen years. She was always proud of being “a St. Stephen’s girl!” Sister was generous in offering her time and talent to whatever request came her way—her signature response being, “my pleasure.”

May Sister Marie Helene rejoice in the eternal presence of our good and loving God.

Due to the current situation regarding gatherings, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. A private burial will take place here in our Resurrection Cemetery.

She was my eighth grade teacher at St. Helen. The best teacher I have ever had. She had a lifelong influence on my life. May you find peace and joy in your Father’s arms.

Sister St. Clement, as I knew her at St. Helens School in the late seventies, was not just my 8th grade teacher, she was a life saver! She saw things in me I did not see myself and she helped me to recognize and celebrate my strengths. I saw her do that with all my classmates. Her teaching style shaped the teacher I am today. Sister, I am so blessed to have had you in my life.

..Sr Marie Helene was my 8th grade teacher too. Although I struggled that year, she never gave up on me…..and after I went to high school she never forgot me. Years later, when I was 32, I ran into her at Notre Dame College where I was finally getting my degree. She became a mentor and a friend. She even came to my college graduation. We stayed in contact over the years and I always sent her a Christmas card every year. I am heartbroken over the loss of a wonderful teacher, mentor, and friend. Requiesce in Pace, Sr Marie Helene…..I will never forget the impact you’ve had on my life.
