Sister Mary Nancy Petrucelli, SND; 1946–2020

Sister Mary Nancy Petrucelli, SND; 1946–2020

Our dear Sister Mary Nancy entered into eternal life very suddenly, quickly and unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, July 28, from cardiac arrest. For over forty years, Sister’s ministry and area of expertise was making history come alive for her high school students at Regina High School, Cleveland Central Catholic High School and, most recently, at Notre Dame Cathedral-Latin School. She led teams and encouraged success as moderator for Academic Challenge competitions and tutored with intensity!

May Sister Mary Nancy know peace and great joy as she is welcomed into the fullness of life and light.

As a Cleveland Central Catholic alum, I had Sr. Nancy for U.S. History and current events. She was always a kind caring woman. She will be missed. God Bless you, Sr. Nancy.

Going to Regina High School was made extra special by Sr. Nancy. We soon became friends and we continued our friendship well beyond my graduation. Sister Nancy would be the driver for my two great aunts, Sister Mary Elreda, SND & Sister Mary Daniel, SND when they came to visit the family. I always enjoyed catching up with Sr. Nancy at our family functions. I can honestly say my family adopted her. Please give my heavenly family hugs and kisses from me. May you rest in peace and much love to you.

Sister Nancy became good friends with my mom, Janet Winkler, when they taught together at NDCL in the mid-90’s, I believe. She eventually became a close family friend of ours and our extended family. We shared many wonderful experiences and laughs with her and are very thankful for our time with her. We will miss her, but we will also feel her comfortable presence in so many ways as time goes by.

Our condolences go out to her family, friends and community. May she rest in peace
